Hey all! Vist this website to view the full video =)

Recently I have watched a beautiful and powerful presentation that really touched me, and I wanted to share it with you. I'm sure you'll enjoy the amazing images and the inspiring messages, featuring Bethany Hamilton, John Baker, Paul Hamm, Wilma Rudolph, and lots more.

I think those who are featured have finished strong as they continue to live their lives to the fullest. One of the people I really admire the most is Bethany Hamilton. On October 31, 2003, a tiger shark attacked her while she was surfing with her friends, resulting the lost of her arm. Despite the trauma of the incident, she wa still determined to surf. And she did, and won competitions like Hamilton won the ESPY Award for Best Comeback Athlete of the Year.

WHAT IS HAIKU?

Haiku is a form of Japanese poetry, consisting of 17 Japanese words in three metrical phrases with the number of syllables of 5 (first line), 7 (second line), and 5 (third or last line). In Japanese, haiku are traditionally printed in a single vertical line, while haiku in English usually appear in three lines.

Here are some examples of Haiku =)

FROG AND POND.
The old pond, yes, and
A frog is jumping into
The water, and splash.

Hey all. So today's post is all about DRUGS. So, what IS drugs? Why do people waste their money to buy drugs? What are some of the common drugs nowadays? What are the effects of drug taking?

Basically, it is an often illegal and sometimes addictive substance that causes changes in behaviour and perception and is taken for the effects. Some people also use drugs to treat or prevent disease or to lessen pain. Sometimes they take it by the influence of friends.

Here are three of the common drugs and the effects of taking them.
Cocaine, Heroin and Marijuana.

Cocaine is a strong central nervous system stimulant, sometimes used by college students and is highly addictive.
Heroin, while abused far less than marijuana on campus, heroin is a dangerous, is an addictive drug that may have disastrous consequences for users.
Marijuana is the most commonly abused illicit drug in the United States. It is a dry, shredded green and brown mix of flowers, stems, seeds, and leaves derived from the hemp plant Cannabis sativa. The main active chemical in marijuana is delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol; THC for short. The effects are problems with memory and learning, loss of coordination, trouble with thinking and problem-solving, increased heart rate, reduced blood pressure.

I think people should not tale drugs as it is highly addictive and is a waste of money. You can use the money to buy important things like writng materials, books ect. instead of buying useless, expensive pills.

Hello there! That is a video of Michael Jackson's - The Earth Song. I was never a fan of Michael Jackson but this song touched me deeply.

I feel that people nowadays need to stop taking things for granted and start getting up on their feet to do good for the planet. There have been more than enough campaigns to educate people on global warming but I feel that people do not take it seriously. Do you feel scared after watching the video? You should as I certainly did.

What is Global Warming?

Global warming An increase in the average temperature of the Earth's atmosphere, especially a sustained increase great enough to cause changes in the global climate. The Earth has experienced numerous episodes of global warming through its history, and currently appears to be undergoing such warming. The present warming is generally attributed to an increase in the greenhouse effect , brought about by increased levels of greenhouse gases, largely due to the effects of human industry and agriculture. Expected long-term effects of current global warming are rising sea levels, flooding, melting of polar ice caps and glaciers, fluctuations in temperature and precipitation, more frequent and stronger El Niños and La Niñas, drought, heat waves, and forest fires.

Causes for Global Warming.

Global Warming is increasing the earth’s average temperature. The Green house gases are the main culprits of the global warming. The green house gases like carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide are playing hazards in the present times. These green house gases trap heat in earth’s atmosphere and thus result in increasing the temperature of earth. The excessive emission of these gases is the major cause of global warming.

How can you can help to reduce Global Warming.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Do your part to reduce waste by choosing reusable products instead of disposables. Buying products with minimal packaging will help to reduce waste.

Drive Less and Drive Smart. Less driving means fewer emissions. Besides saving gasoline, walking and biking are great forms of exercise. Explore your community’s mass transit system, and check out options for carpooling to work or school.

Buy Energy-Efficient Products. When it's time to buy a new car, choose one that offers good gas mileage. Home appliances now come in a range of energy-efficient models, and compact florescent bulbs are designed to provide more natural-looking light while using far less energy than standard light bulbs.

So these are some of the things you can do to reduce Gobal Warming. =)
